It's Mange Season - Don't let them suffer in silence!

WAO volunteers traveled across the state to pick up this wombat but were too late to save the poor little man
Sarcoptic Mange is a killer. Wombats with mange simply do not recover alone. The itch caused by this mite is insatiable (trust me, I know!) and for the poor wombat, there is no relief in site...their anxiety is devastating.
You can help! Do you know it only costs us 5 cents to save the life of a newly infected wombat?
Treatment is simple, finding help isn't.
There are wombats everywhere suffering with Sarcoptic mange, volunteers are needed in all wombat habitat. Please contact us if you can assist by donating time, medications or petrol, travel for debilitated wombats or constructing simple self treatment systems. There is lots to do but you will make a difference!
WAO received their first grant from the Foundation of National Parks and Wildlife! Thank you to the Wombat Protection Society of Australia who's invention of 'self treatment flaps' will be trialled for the first time on the Southern Hairy Nosed Wombat!
